Brunch at BBQ Station

>> Saturday, February 18, 2017

Who says it's too early for barbecue?? I felt famished. We went out of the house early but was caught in a jeepney driver's goal of filling all spaces before moving, so my little me was late for rehearsals, and me, well, hungry.. I have so many things to do before 12 noon, so I decided to have brunch...
Been craving for something like barbecue last night, and so this is the answer. BBQ Station has been famous for its bbq around the city, and they have lots of branches.. I am near Xavier University today, so I simply ordered, paid, sat and ate..

Happy Saturday everyone..

Junior's Night 2017

>> Friday, February 17, 2017

We were all told to come at 12 noon because we have quite a very long program. No lunch yet, so we were already very hungry, but we had to be at the venue for our students. Entrance happened around 1:45 pm, by section. Sniffing dog plus individual physical check.. It was painstaking and time consuming, but all worth it.

It was really tedious waiting for our entrance, so we decided to eat. We were famished at 3pm. No snacks were served yet. So we ate. I had a piece of Malagkit, a serving of Palitao..
And one Fresh Lumpia. with water to go with all that..
Entrance for teachers happened by 5pm. Snacks were served 5:45 which was very very late. The kids were already agitated.
We were served Spaghetti and a piece of fried chicken. The server gave me two. lol..

By dinner time, 9:45 pm, we were served with Fried Chicken, a small piece of Fish Fillet and Beef Tapa. My section were served last.. That was 10:58 already.. Not so good experience with the organizer..

The PTA president donated lechon for the teachers but we only found out about where it was when it was time to go home.. So it was decided that we will have Lechon Paksiw on Monday :-)

Bayibayi: Sweet Treat from Panay/Capiz

>> Tuesday, February 14, 2017

One of my recent discoveries on my way to Passi Iloilo from Roxas City, yesterday, was this treat. They call this Bayibayi.. A kakanin delicacy which is similar to our very own Linupak. Only, this is made from Pinipig and not Banana..

It is packaged for singular distribution or serving, but I must tell you, one serve is not enough. It is truly yummy..

My niece can take all four or one pack in her mouth.. hahaha

Lunch at Nesta's in Magallanes St.

>> Sunday, February 12, 2017

So here I am exploring the city again. I needed to withdraw as I wanted to buy pasalubong already. So I went to the capitol where there was a Land Bank ATM. Across the the street was a mini plaza, in front of this beautiful church.

The lady invited me to burn some candles, and pray. Unlike in the usual churches where there were areas designated for candle lighting and prayers, here, they made makeshift candle holders.

This lady is quite enterprising this way, lol..
Anyway, just across is the oldest bridge, behind the water fountain. It was a lovely sight for me..
And of course, looking for a place to eat, I came to this side of the city hall. So sad vandalism has caught up with the wall. See the red writings on it? I hate to see clean walls being raped that way.

Just a few feet, and I saw this old eatery called Nesta's... The food looked common except for this fish. I do not know its name. But I smelled Sinigang so right away, I ordered it.

It felt like eating in Barrio Gaisano in Cagayan de Oro, only the people speak a different language. Before moving towards the counter, I couldn't help but get tempted with my favorite Brazo de Mercedes.
Just one slice makes my heart beat fast, lol.. and my mind telling me to let it pass.. But I couldn't.
I'm glad I took the order, for it was really yummy. I should have bought a roll, should I be traveling back already. Instead, I bought packs of their brownies and butterscotch..

Pasalubong #1. hehehe

Lunch at El Zabroso at Gaisano Market Place

>> Saturday, February 11, 2017

I consider this my time off. I have nothing to do yet, so I opted to explore the area before that serious task later this afternoon. So for lunch, I went straight to El Zabroso, which is just a few meters away from the hotel.

El Zabroso is famous for its chicken and pizza. I have tasted these before, so with their pasta, when I came to Roxas City last December 2016. I didn't quite like their pasta, it was also from a different branch. But, I did like their chicken, so I ordered it again. However, this time, I found the chicken bland. I guess it depends on what branch??? Or was it a different food company??? Zabroso vs El Zabroso???

Anyhow, I still enjoyed the staff's services. They were all accomodating. I walked away with a slice of Pizza for take out. Passed by the market place, and bought the goodies above.

For just P 45 this pizza is really good. Cheap but good..

More exploration tomorrow..

Passi City Delicasies at the Bus Station

>> Friday, February 10, 2017

The bus came very late so we arrived at Passi Station late. I had been looking forward to seeing the Buko Pie sold only at this specific location. I bought three, ate one for I was already famished from the delay. Kept these for later.

Also bought this kropek, new food adventure, for me to try. We'll know later if it's good or not..
