Being Sick is No Fun!

>> Saturday, May 25, 2013

Getting sick is no fun. The worst sickness I have had in years is losing appetite in the middle of having "sinda" or that ailment where air runs crazily inside you causing much pain and discomfort, but doctors do not see anything on medical tests and procedures. No time to think about the best cigar or the best grilled barbecue or whatever it is that you may fancy because all you can think about is breathing without pain. From allergy attack after our week-long seminar, the month of May opened with me being sick, first allergy related, then it progressed to loss of appetite and ulcer at the same time---- with me paying the doctor more for what was never made better, and buying medicines for many different purposes... I was not only drained physically because of how I felt, I was also drained financially. But I didn't complain because somehow I have to survive.

As with food, I have only been taking milk, for no food is acceptable, else I throw up. My sister was already worried because milk is not enough for the energy and health requirements of the body. I even reached the point where I found it difficult to move my knees, as they have weakened. The last time we went to the doctor, I asked to be on IV for dextrose as I feared I may lose it, but since my lab tests were okay, it didn't push through. More medicines were given for me to buy and I was advised what to eat. In frustration, my sister told me to get in touch with someone who sells Herbalife and we should buy the shakes---- and that's just what I did. With Herbalife shakes being added in my system, I felt better. I am now taking in food, though less but unlike the times I wanted to throw up, I can now take them in... My knees are okay now, and I am hoping to be okay for good. More fruits and vegetables in my diet will help a lot, I know. As with the "sinda", I called on a ventosa expert to help with the bad air, and I felt better. A little sacrifice with applying oils at night before sleeping and staying away from bad air from electric fans--- sometimes, it juts pays to sacrifice on these things because being sick is no fun!

The Little Chef

Since I got sick this month, Lili had been helping my sister with food preparation and even serving food to her sick mommy... I am grateful for all her efforts because she has asked to help. At an early age, she knows when she is needed, at the right time and place--- all for love.

She makes sure that my food is ready all the time because the problem with my sickness at this time is my appetite. I have never imagined myself to lose appetite and not want to eat----

But thank heavens for two lovely persons in my life--- my sister Sweet and Lili--- who have sustained me with their acts of kindness and love.

Mother's Day Breakfast--- in bed..

>> Sunday, May 12, 2013

I have been sick for a week now, but I still take my meals at the dining table. Today, I woke up to a crazy sound in our kitchen, and the aroma of coffee.. yum!

But as I rose, I see that breakfast is already on the bed, with the yummy coffee.. Just the way I like it! Yey!

Oh, and a card went with the meal too...

Happy Mother's Day to all of us who have mothered children, ours or other women's kids---- and thanks to my babbhi pooh for the yummy treat and although it doesn't show on her card, I think the burlap drape here is rather cute...

Dunkin After Lunch Break

It was warm during lunch time. We wanted to cool down. But my colleague wanted to drink Hot Choco while all of us wanted Icee Choco from Dunkin Donuts. So she volunteered to go and get some for the five of us.

When she arrived it was already the start of  the afternoon session. Anyhow, while listening to our speaker, we enjoyed our Dunkin Donuts break, hahahaha...

The choice was Straberry Filled Donuts or Bavarian Filled Donuts together with our Icee Choco..

K-12 Training/Seminar Day 3 Lunch

We just had our lunch. And we are now on our break. But of course, we are already done with lunch because we were allowed to eat while the last video was shown earlier. So now, we can actually do what we like to do.

This is a reward for me because I had to line up for our group's food supply as early as eleven in the morning, to ensure that my group will have complete supply as sometimes, the food supply is lacking due to an increased number of participants. I feel like I am the mother in my group and I have to provide them their share every meal time, lol.. In photo above is my colleague doing the same for her group, along with the caterers.

Lunch is Chicken Afritada with Sotanghon, and a brownie for dessert.

This meal is another yummy experience, no matter how simple the package may look.

Below is what the other caterer has served the other participants..

Fresh from the Kitchen Goodness

I love the snack served this morning. The chocolate cake was warm and yummy-- freshly baked goodness served just after baking.

Although they need to transport the food, it does not take long before the food could be delivered. That is why the food is still fresh upon distribution.

The problem with two caterers is that, you will never know where your food will be from. This caterer is who we prefer because their food is delicious.

That's what I love about the lady caterer that serves us food for the duration of our seminar. The crumbs may fall off your prana jenna skirt but for sure there would be less compared to the ones served by the other caterer. The other caterer simply buys their food or prepares not so good food for us.

This time the question is, Egg with Ham or Ham with Egg? hahaha.. The food is not so good, especially the rice, but, it is what was served..
