Busy Day Today

>> Monday, January 21, 2013

I am having a crazy day today. Good thing I learned about the InetSoft's report designer that helps me with all the reports that I need to finish today. Oh but in a few minutes, maybe ten or less, I will go to my class and do what I do everyday in school. Sooner or later, I will need to finish the required reports and make lesson plans as usual, then attend meetings and many others.

On the other hand, I am happy because I have less sections to handle now unlike last quarter.. So it's just okay..

My Tita's Bam-i

>> Sunday, January 20, 2013

In photo is one of the photos I took of my tita's Bam-i. It's funny because everytime she cooks Bam-i, I usually forget to snap a photo before we eat. Good that in this photo, there was some left, so I took the awaited photo. Her Bam-i is yummy. She said it's because of her secret ingredient.

Videoke Blues

I am supposed to be with my family in Opol right now, but since I have lots to finish, here I am thinking about the videoke sessions we have, with our really nice microphone, and some mix of old and modern songs to sing to. Not to mention the food that we always prepare while bonding there..

Anyhow, I feel okay not being there today, for as long as I can finish all these tasks that I have. My family and I can have our concert next weekend, lol..

Homemade Ice cream: Buko Salad

This is actually fruit salad, but somehow, it became so creamy that it is much yummier that ice cream, so our home made buko salad ice cream was born.  The process is simple. Prepare fruit salad the way you prepare them. Use a creamy milk and cream, and freeze the entire mixture for three hours. Take it out of the refrigerator and mix them again, making the mixture loosen, and freeze again for another hour. Repeat the process twice. Of course, when you are ready to serve, you will realize the transformation. From ordinary salad to ice cream..

On Diets..

Since it's already 2013, I am sure many have been pledging to end all unhealthy lifestyles and diets. I am sure some would even consult a nutritionist for some healthy eating chart or a doctor to recommend what's proper, or a gym instructor for work out..

Well, it is actually easy if one just has the determination to succeed in it. But for those who do not have even the slightest willingness for change, then it is absolutely difficult. Of course, that also goes to people who are suffering in some kind of disease that needs special diets. It's never easy, but if one will try harder in each attempt, it will surely go a long long way.

Sweet Corn

>> Saturday, January 19, 2013

My sister's friend's husband's family just harvested their sweet corn from their farm. They are selling.. The other week, we ordered 15 pieces, and last week, another 10. We couldn't get enough of their yummy sweet corn. My colleagues have also tasted the corn, and they liked its taste as well.

This week, I think we are going to order again as we no longer have any to cook for snacks..

What a wonderful day we had today.. My colleagues and I bonded.. We had lunch at Chowking Velez, before we proceeded to the parlor where we had our hair and make up.. I ordered this beef dish..

Satisfied with our hair and make up, we each took turns taking pictures.. This is my simple do..

And of course, we headed to the Atrium, where we danced during the Teachers' dance showdown..

Guess what? We won second place.. Isn't that great?

The Last Slice of Fruitcake..

>> Saturday, January 12, 2013

Some people may use an ableton live 8, and pretend that they are good in musical instruments, although they are not. Well, that is the same as some people who pretend to like a fruitcake, though they don't. Well, I know of some who are like that.. But me, I am missing the Fruitcake I ordered last Christmas.

By far, that was the best fruitcake I have ever tasted.. It was made by a fellow blogger's sister, and I really love it. With it, one will no longer pretend to like the cake.. I swear.. See you next Christmas Fruitcake, I am going to order again..

Chocolates..

A friend of mine had been busy last December 28, 2012 for the last day of putting ICC stickers on their helmets. It is after all, a safety precaution for all motorcycle riders, who must use helmets like Nolan N43 and all others that will surely protect the head and not just be an accessory for pageantry. So we only saw each other yesterday and he gave me a pack of chocolate.  We got hungry and ate it, before snapping a pic.

On the other hand, my officemate's sister arrived from Norway and gave us chocolates.. I was able to snap a photo.. before eating my share, lol..

The Snickers are common to me, but the two chocolates below are new to my eyes and taste buds.. yum!

Aromatherapy Do’s and Don’ts

Aromatherapy is, as with almost everything in life, quite a mysterious and confusing practice to get involved in. This article sets out a quick run through of the do’s and don’ts when tackling aromatherapy.

Do make sure you read and research as much as you possibly can into the subject. There are hundreds if not thousands of resources available out there, be that online or (as I prefer) in books - my personal recommendation for someone starting out would be Aromatherapy: A Guide for Home Use which covers every aspect concerned with the field. It is vital you understand the basics; equipment, blending, ingredients, benefits, applications, and safety; so you then have a knowledgeable platform to build upon into more advanced realms.

Do ensure you store your oils in dark glass bottles and in a cool, dark place, ideally some sort of wooden storage box. This will keep you’re oils protected from the elements whilst acting as a hugely practical and organizational asset to your work.

Don’t skimp out on equipment or ingredients; if you do you’ll only end up with very average results at best and only be disappointed with the outcome. Make sure you purchase good quality equipment, especially for things like oil burners; the Soto oil diffuser is currently one of the best on the market for home purposes. Along the same vein you want to avoid picking up oils from any street fairs or something similar. Purchase your oils from respected, well known names and brands so you know you are getting high quality ingredients. It may sound fairly self explanatory but essentially it will make your whole aromatherapy far more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Don’t purchase any bottled oils that have rubber glass dropper tops. This is particularly the case with essential oils as the high concentration of the oil will end up turning the rubber top into a sort of gum which will then ruin the oil itself.

Do take into account all the safety aspects of aromatherapy, ensuring you avoid any oils that could potentially aggravate any medical condition you may have. For example bergamot oils must be used with great care because of its phototoxic properties. So make sure you understand the ingredients of the oils and how or in what ratio they should be blended and applied.

Now I suppose the most important thing you should do is to experiment and above all have fun with aromatherapy. It is a wonderful and therapeutic practice that I guarantee you will change your life.

Does the Dukan weight loss plan work in the long run?

There is a vast amount of criticism out there towards rapid weight loss plans which promote quick weight loss results within the first initial phases but neglect to provide a sustainable approach towards weight loss as a long term plan.

People on such plans see a hugely visible loss of weight within the first few weeks then start to see a declined rate within the following. This is to be expected with most diets, so with enough will power people keep at it and after a lot of hard work they eventually reach their preferred weight.
However the question is how long will that preferred weight last? The Dukan diet, which recently turned two years old, promotes four Dukan diet phases, two of which are dedicated to the rapid weight loss as mentioned and the second two towards the long term continued loss of weight.

This healthy diet plan promotes a sustainable approach to weight loss via including a stabilisation phase which allows the person to resume their usual diet which existed before undertaking the Dukan diet, however once beyond phase three must commit one day a week to a dedicated protein only day and must also undergo 20 minutes of light exercise a day.

Taking on a diet requires a person to accept that there can’t be an expiry date, as in you can’t do the time get out and hope that everything will remain honkey dory. The truth is if someone wants to truly lose weight, and not just for a couple of months, you have to be willing to make a permanent life style change.

Other diets require one to take a drastic permanent life style change, whereas the Dukan diet probably offers the least radical. One day out of seven in any given week reflects the Dukan diet changes and each day you have to undergo twenty minutes light exercise. Of which you probably already do without realising.

If I had to suggest an effective long term weight loss plan the Dukan diet would be at the top of my list, so long as a person is willing to make a few small permanent adjustments.

Let's Talk About Cars Baby..

>> Tuesday, January 8, 2013

Enough of cooking for Lizzy and hello new car. I just love this baker friend of mine as she is into a lot of so many things. Recently, she has indulged us with her information about cars and spare parts, and car repaint jobs, repairs and so many more. You talk to he and she will enumerate many brands such as woodfins and many others. Adding that to your vocabulary would mean, added knowledge should your car need accessorizing, repaint or repair. The good thing about it is that, she is able to explain everything just like explaining how to cook a no cook pastry recipe.
