Century Bangus Tapa

>> Sunday, September 23, 2012

Another favorite of mine from the Century Bangus line of food is this Tapa. Bangus meat that's richly flavored. I love it!

Unfortunately, it is not often that I see this in the groceries. Good thing there is the Century Bangus Tocino as well as all the other food from the group.

After Eating

What do you do after eating? Do you sleep after eating? Some people do so, and well, some of them do not wake up anymore. Hmmm.. Other people stand up right away, while others would walk around to the tell tale that doing so would make them digest their food faster than not doing so.

When I lived in Singapore for two to three months, two years ago, my sister and I would go swimming in the evenings, after we finish washing the dinner dishes. By the pool's pentair led pool light, we'd swim and make use of the time there to relax and enjoy the night sky. During day time, usually before we have breakfast, we also go for a swim at the condo's swimming infinity pool.

Lunch Below P 50.00

A month before we were finally given our advice orders, we spent almost a month at the division office. For lunch, we usually go to Dear Manok and order below P 50.00 meals.

There are actually many choices, like the Lumpia Shanghai meal above, and the Fish Fillet below.

There are also Chicken Fillet meals as well as Fried Bangus. All of them come with a glass of iced tea. It was okay then since we still do not have the budget, lol..

P 20: four Siomai and a Glass of Juice

>> Saturday, September 22, 2012

Yesterday, we had our fitting for our tee shirts that we shall use on October 5, the World's Teachers Day. I do not know about the design of the custom screen printing, but we were told that three schools will be wearing the same shirt. Anyway, after the fitting, we had dinner at the stall near our faculty room.

It's Siomai that's yummy.. Since Tuesday, they had this promo where you get a free glass of juice for four Siomai you buy. And that's just for the price of P 20.00, cheap heaven for me.

A Clean Restaurant

My friend's younger cousin was telling us something about restaurant uniforms, when a Facebook image being shared earned a lot of comments. It was of a gorgeous looking chef who opened his own restaurant in the suburbs with really gorgeous curls and white shiny teeth. We all exclaimed that the photo was somehow photo-shopped  but my friend's cousin told us that she knows the guy as he was her classmate back in their culinary school days. And he was not at all that good looking back then, lol. She told us how clumsy he was back then, but had acquired a sense of perfection along the way. She showed us more photos of him and well, we were quite impressed.

Oh well, I think her classmate did learn a lot from their training days as he has now improved, not only in his looks, but also on how he manages his restaurant. With a clean and homey environment, plus the food, I am sure his restaurant will be a hit.

Vertigo

I found this in Save More, on sale and so we tried the chocolate pop. We bought six for the price of three.

I find the chocolate side of the pop yummy. The chocolate is not too sweet. But the strawberry side is too sweet.

Anyway, the kids loved them..

This Dessert Makes Me Want To Sing!

Whenever we make Mango Float, I feel like singing. Literally! My family always makes Mango Float, especially when sweet Mangoes are in season.

My sister and I would make Mango Float in a tandem. And yes, we sing when we do. Hahaha.. The lyrics would all be "mmmm" and mmmmm, even without an  audio-technica ath-m50s musicians friend, I am able to get the message across.. that.. mmmm.. the Mango Float is to die for..

So why shouldn't it make me sing? I was in heaven making the Mango Float, and I am in heaven eating it..

My Cousin's Birthday..

This is a backlogged post. On my cousin's birthday, we had dinner at Chicken Inasal Bacolod Style, and these are the food we ordered, plus the drinks and desserts..

This Crispy Kangkong is my all time favorite.. But I do not like that it is only mayonnaise that they served, and not the tartar sauce that it used to..

I love the Fish Fingers...

And of course, the signature Chicken Barbecue.. pitso..

Add a glass of Green Mango Shake, and this heavenly dessert..

YUM!

First Friday Mass Preps

Friday, September 7 was the first Friday mass schedule at Fatima Chapel, where our department is the sponsor. It was the last day of our first week in school, and as new hires, we were asked to be there. So I took my lunch..
Some food from the food stall near our building. And some Siomai, my favorite.

We also prepared some offerings for the mass, as we were told that we will be given blessings. My offering was taken by a student, who took it to the altar during offertory.

 A pose after lunch.. hahaha..
The altar.. I forgot to take a photo of the table, and all others. The altar table linen looks similar with the western bedding sets in my grandma's house.

I got to sit with the choir, but I only knew one song. Hahaha.. Been a Buddhist for fourteen years now, and I haven't been a part of the choir since..

Breakfast for Dinner...

>> Saturday, September 15, 2012

It's dinnertime. But I still do not know what to cook. I am thinking of prepping some sweet ham and some omelette with tomatoes and onions..
Or maybe I should just have some crackers and some chocolate spread..
Or some cold kakanin in the refrigerator...
 Maybe some papayas..
Or cook me some pancakes with lots of margarine..
Or cook rice and have some chorizo..
When I am alone, I do not really care what to cook and what to eat. Unless I am craving so heavily for some kind of food. For now, coffee will do..

I know.. I know.. All these are mostly for breakfast.. hahaha

Manna Packs

Last month, when Manila/Luzon was hit by the flood, we sent a couple of sacks, packages and boxes of clothes, noodles, and some Manna Packs courtesy of friends and members of CDO Bloggers Inc, and of Mindaoan.Com, through the Philippine Air force.

We had to pack them and put names on them so that they will all be handed properly to the contact person in Luzon. While packing we had lots of fun laughing out our neophyte packing skills, as we listened to the calming water fountains indoor.
First thing that was done was line them up for the dogs to sniff them, before they can be allowed to enter the Air Force compound in Lumbia.
Good thing it wasn't only us who had to carry them for the line. The good soldiers helped us carry them in line.

While we were closing our sacks and boxes, I saw these packs called Manna Packs. They are actually combination of rice and soy. On the label, I read that they were packed for goodness and for the healthy benefits of those who will eat them.

Cupcakes from TLE Class

Two students dropped by our faculty room yesterday, and sold us a couple of cupcakes that they made during their TLE class. The cupcakes were still warm and fresh from the oven.
I bought two of the Malunggay Cupcakes and just one Carrot Cupcake since there wasn't anything left anymore but one. I brought them home for Lili and River and Sweet, but I ended up having them for breakfast this morning since the three are with my parents since yesterday.

The cupcakes aren't really to die for, but they are okay. A good start for students to learn the basics of making cupcakes. Maybe one day one of them will have a special recipe and even open up his or her own bakeshop. Who knows?

Chowking Sausage Chow Pao

>> Saturday, September 1, 2012

Two days ago, my friends and I went for a quick snack at Chowking, since I was not so hungry, I ordered the Chowking Chow Pao meal for only P 39.00---

The food above plus a glass of ice cold coke.

Here is how the Chao Pao looked after removing the package. It smelled good, I almost knocked off my friend's back braces, lol.

And here's how it looked from the inside. Hmmm.. Looks pretty simple, right? But I did get the feeling that I am liking the product. Will I order it again? Maybe. And perhaps another flavor too.

For a snack, considering I didn't have breakfast that day, it was quite filling. The Chinese bun was truly heavy, that it can pass as a meal replacement if one wants a lighter lunch or dinner.
