Fiesta Craze

>> Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Whenever we have gatherings in the house, specifically, during the Fiesta celebration, we literally hide extra food for latter use in the bedroom. Why? Because our kitchen and dining rooms become so crowded. So for food not to spoil, they are separately placed in the bedroom. Food that need not spoil easily are readily placed in their serving dishes, covered with plastic wrap, on a white mattress. WHITE??? Yes, white. So that, we can easily spot for things unlikely to be present..So that when people are served, the dishes that are for washing goes to the washer, and new dishes will be served in specific order. Kinda OC huh? Well, that's my mom. Everything has to be in proper order.

Chocolate and Gold..

This image I found of  gold bullion reminds me of chocolates. Really. Chocolates are like gold in the food industry. How about chocolates plus Almonds? OMG.. That is super duper HOT..Not even the snipers nor the terrorists could resist.
And if they are to choose, I am sure they'd stop whatever they are doing just to have a bite of anything made with said ingredients..  And how about this?

or this?

How about this?
Surely you would not be able to resist a treat like this:
How about making your own?
Or bathing in Chocolate..

Nothing could be more exhilarating than that.. But of course, if you want to make money with gold or chocolates, gold investors would tell you to go for gold rather than the chocolate investment.. Gold appreciates value over time as chocolate has a tendency spoil,  to become sour or rancid, depending on kind and value, as well as all the proper equipment used. Gold only entails one major capital, which is buying real gold from a reliable source. For chocolates, aside form getting them lower rates from a reliable source, equipment and machinery as well as labor force is necessary.. That costs more already, but the profit is not at all the same as with gold investments..

Sandwich Art

>> Saturday, August 28, 2010

In line with the Palamantasan Regional Eliminations, The Sandwich Art was one, among five events that the different schools in the Region vied for. Here are a few of my takes after the judging of  The Sabayang Bigkas was done. I was told that there were 11 contestants but I was only able to shoot a few..

Below is a sandwich with a healthy twist. Unfortunately, it was too much of a good thing. I loved the grapes but the sandwich seemed heavy for me.

Most of the sandwiches have the same basic component. The same power ingredient that is the Kraft Cheez Whiz. The sandwiches below caught my attention as they are a sure hit for kids with the cheesy hotdogs, but with too much Cheez Whiz it also became too much to handle.

Below is a burger with a twist. Cheez Whiz was used instead of cheese.

And of course,

I enjoyed their health drink, Kamote Calamansi Cold Drink..

So who won? It's Student and Mom,  LIA ANGELA QUIAOIT & MARLA JENNIFER QUIAOIT from CORPUS CHRISTI GRADE SCHOOL (CDO) with Coach, AMETTA TAGUCHI

CONGRATULATIONS...

Just Choose One

>> Friday, August 27, 2010

What would you prefer? Chocolates or Romeo cigars? Well, if you are fond of cigars, you will like the latter, but if you are a fan of chocolates, I am sure you will choose the former. But if you ask my little girl, she will tell you that chocolates are better than cigars as she is yet at the age of five. Hmm.. I wonder if she will have a different answer when she ages  or  or  or up.. Seriously, I was quite amused when I heard her say that in front of my friends. Quite sensible for someone like her to be saying such words.. I mean, true. Everything we are able to enjoy comes with every age level.

Income Protection Insurance

>> Tuesday, August 24, 2010

A chef is best paid when he has already made a name for himself parallel to his work and masterpieces. Some open their own restaurants as well as other businesses. But for as long as the Chef is name worthy, his creations and masterpieces will earn him prestige and more clients, ergo, more money.. But if one is a chef in Australia, he or she is privileged to have income protection insurance at whatever cost. Therefore, high and low, he will always earn from his insurances. How I wish we have that here in the Philippines..

Going Into A Business

>> Wednesday, August 18, 2010

When I started going into business, I have printed my own business card. A business card is important whether you have a small or large scale business. Now that we have ventured into our small food business, we also do business cards printing on the side. Why? Because our friends ask us to help them with their business cards needs and having personalized business cards is really great. They can even have a photo of theirs inserted if they wish to do so. The main purpose is that, people will have a way to contact you. Now that we are in the era of the world wide web, side by side with the business card is a business web address. And a slot at Facebook--- that surely helps..

>> Thursday, August 12, 2010

My cousin asked me where she can order Lumpia and Puto. Of course I have recommended our source since we have been ordering from them. And I am so happy that they liked them too. Well, if it were gold that she have asked about, I could have also told her about the United States Gold Bureau. How I knew these things are form my experience and other close friends'& experiences. Cooking & Stress

Cooking is a very good outlet for emotional and psychological stress. At least to me that is. And one way to fully achieve a positive feeling while cooking is to enjoy the moment in a well lighted, well ventilated kitchen. I am sure many of you would think that kitchen lighting is not necessary. But definitely, it is important. It may be just as simple lighting or a grander design for as long as it will fully lit the kitchen for every cook's cooking advantage. Nothing is more refreshing and renewing for a kitchen if not for proper lighting. They clean up dark corners as well as welcome dinner guests with the many possible designs like a multi-pendant light over an island or some mini pendants that strategically light counter spaces. There are also under the cabinet lighting which is very important when preparing food in optimal lighting conditions.

Whatever kind of lighting, it will surely affect the cook's mood while cooking, thus, affecting the taste of food..  Would you agree?

Gold in Ostrich Raising

If one is in the industry of raising ostrich, one is said to be holding gold up his sleeve. It is said to equal to collecting arts masterpieces or when one would buy gold coins. But of course, it takes a while and it entails ample knowledge in the field. One needs to have people attending to the birds as well as people who would be knowledgeable enough to breed as well as harvest its price winning eggs that are just so huge..

At least with gold coins, no other parties need to be involved except the sellers and the buyers.. Gold investors often say that it is by far the best investment. But food industry people say that Ostrich is by far the best investment..

Shawarma Dinners

I have always loved Shawarma. In Cebu, my sister Honey and I can live on it and still be excited to taste it every so often.. Those were the days when we would both be so busy to cook so we'd simply buy Shawarma for dinner. Lunch was always at our workplace so it's only during dinner that we get to see each other. And if we both were tired, we technically feed on fast food..

Salted Fish Sauce

This is one of the many entries in the Food Trade and Expo at the Capitol Grounds last year. This couple are actually selling condiments and appetizers from Initao, Misamis Oriental. They sell their own concoction of spicy vinegar, salted fish paste and salted fish sauce. And of course, some kakanin on the side.

Below is a picture of the salted fish sauce that they sell:

They come bottled in different shapes and sizes, thus price varies per bottle. P 45 for the smaller bottles, next would be at P 50, P 60 and many more.. If one simply wants a few, that's when they measure by the spoonful from the bigger container.

Fish sauce is a great appetizer, but not a good one  for Lowering Cholesterol.. It's salty and therefore, not one of the Cholesterol Lowering Foods that health conscious individuals may seek.

Marang is Gold..

Marang is a local grown fruit and it tastes really good. As a matter of fact, I consider it as an ace fruit as it is rich in vitamins and minerals and buying Marang is just like buying a precious gem or investing in gold as when one will  buy gold bullion... Similarly, gold and Marang follow a season for buying and selling and if both were made as power investments, they would surely reap considerable returns when the right time comes.. The key is knowing where to buy them or where to get them. At the United States Gold Bureau, one is assured to hit their target at the right time. With Marang, all you need is to purchase good Marang and keep the seeds for planting. Of course, you can go directly to farmers and buy from them in wholesale. You get the best fruits in season, you get the best seeds for planting.
