CHEF JACOB BORJA'S GOODIES

>> Monday, November 23, 2009

I came by this dude's page at Facebook one fine day and what caught my attention was his sharing of his own version of the recipe for home made Baked Macaroni and Cheese. And although he did not discuss fully the recipe, he captured everything on cam. The Baked Mac, he used four different cheeses and covered most of the basic ingredients and procedure so his visitors may be able to follow through.

On my next visit, I saw the goodies below:

I found out that he is actually accepting orders and these babies here are samples of orders made by his friends and relatives. The photo above is a Chocolate Cake with fresh strawberries, available for P 350, good for 4-5 persons, while below are Chocolate Moist Cupcakes, also with fresh strawberries which he sells at P 20 pesos for a minimum order of 1 dozen, 3-7 days advance booking.

He is actually using fruits as toppers or edible beads.. Don't mistake that for pellet gun bullets okay... lol..

Another batch of cupcakes, Simple Sponge Cake topped with "rainbow" frosting...

And this caught my eye too... Durian Cheesecake! Ah..

And of course, Strawberry Cheesecake... inside their boxes, ready to meet their rightful owners...

Now this may be far out from the batch, but I have included this to show you guys that Chef Jacob makes ordinary treats look and taste extra ordinary.. Yummy Pancake!

And this sinful treat should not be missed as well.

Oh, and the chocolate moist cake below is topped with boiled icing and fresh strawberries, and you can order it at P 150, including the box. According to Chef Jacob, this creation is recommended for couples who like to heat things up a little bit.. Like tender loving kisses and strawberries and choco moist cake in between? Well, it all depends on you.. But of course, this is also a great gift for moms and dads who still go strong and stronger through the years...

Chef Jacob can be reached through mobile numbers 09162980000. For orders, a 50% down payment is required. For Christmas, the Chef is whipping up a green, gold and red theme for his cakes....

www.sarapngbuhay.com and BREAKING THE WORLD RECORD

>> Thursday, November 12, 2009

Have you read the post before this one? The one with the photo you see above? You may have noticed that I used cheese in my sandwich although there is already another strong ingredient. Well, that is not the first actually. I have been using cheese in any of my cooking, whether it's my best recipe to impress my guests' palate or my day to day cooking for the health benefit and nutrition of my loved ones. I even use it in my renegade (cowboy / outdoor / out of the kitchen) approach in cooking.. To tell you frankly, I am fond of cheese recipes and when I cook I always make sure that I use kraft eden because it is sure to be good. It's nutritious and at the same time, affordable. Imagine, for just P 12, I can already have a cheesy foodie that everyone would die for... haha, I am not boasting. I am simply stating a fact here. I love to cook and I cook with love. My passion is cooking and I know what tastes good and what is good for my loved ones..

Anyway, a friend of mine invited me to sign up and share my cheese recipes at www.sarapngbuhay.com, so I did and shared my famous Easy Spicy Cheesy Eggstacy, my family's favorite. Below is a print screen of the said recipe I shared at the site.

And guess what? After I signed up, I received an email from them. I thought it was just a welcome to the site or thanks for signing up with us kind of email.. But I was surprised by what they have sent me.

It's a gift pack coupon that I am supposed to print out (the email that they sent it with) and present during the December 14 event, BREAKING THE WORLD RECORD at the Araneta Coliseum. That's a bonus. See, I am looking forward to attending the event. My sister Honey has told me about it and I will be meeting her there. That's actually one of my itineraries when I go to Manila again in December. Hmm.. I know that you guys would also want to discover and learn from many experts about cooking with cheese and many others about the event. So why don't you sign up at www.sarapngbuhay.com too...

Below are the details of the event, as I gathered from the website:

Hope to see you guys at the event... Cheese cheese and more cheese..

Easy Spicy Cheesy Eggstacy

This is a simple sandwich that is filling and a good substitute for dinner or lunch on a cold windy day/night. The ingredients are simple as well as the process. This can feed two hungry adults or four small children...

I posted this recipe at sarapngbuhay.com

Ingredients:

1 35 grams Eden Cheese Original (Sulit pack)

1 can 155 grams Spicy Tuna

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 small Egg

salt & pepper to taste (optional)

4 slices medium sized Goldilocks Egg & Milk Bread (or any bread pf your choice)

a little milk

Procedure:

Preheat oven toaster for 10 minutes

While oven toaster is turned on start the process of putting together the sandwich.

Sandwich:
spread the mayonnaise on the inner side of each slice of bread

slice the cheese thinly and arrange on each slice

spread tuna on one side and when done cover with the other (so that the sandwich has bread mayo cheese tuna cheese mayo bread in order)

when done, place the sandwiches in the oven toaster and increase heat for another 5 minutes or when you have the right golden brown color (if desired)

take the sandwiches off the pan and replace with the combination of all the remaining ingredients plus the egg... be careful because this is not the normal way of cooking in an oven toaster. You can actually do this also in a large frying pan, the toasting of the sandwiches and all... (a little cheese, a little tuna, salt and pepper and egg), fold until consistency is achieved. when it is creamy already, you can add a little milk then put it in a small plate or a saucer..

MUCH ADO ABOUT PEANUTS

>> Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I love Peanuts... But many are as blessed as I am when eating peanuts. Some try to avoid it for allergic reactions or arthritic pains. some are afraid of pimples and weight gain..

Contrary to what the name implies, peanuts are not really nuts but is actually a member of a family of legumes related to peas, lentils, chickpeas and other beans. They start growing as a ground flower that due to its heavy weight bends towards the ground and eventually burrows underground where the peanut actually matures. The veined brown shell or pod of the peanut contains two or three peanut kernels. Each oval-shaped kernel or seed is comprised of two off-white lobes that are covered by a brownish-red skin.

What i love about this foodie is that it has many uses, and is versatile not only in the kitchen but also with business. Try reading this link here.

For my sister, however, since she experiences arthritic numbness, she avoids or minimizes the intake of this fave fodie of mine..
